Dance for Parkinson’s throughout the autumn

Which bodies are given space in dance? And what happens when movement becomes a way of understanding art, illness and our ideas about health?

This autumn, Dance for Parkinson’s comes to The Cell to explore the exhibition Me You We – Exploring Human Behaviour through dance and collective artistic expression. Together with Balettakademien, participants explore the relationship between body, brain, movement and artistic expression.

When people with Parkinson’s disease dance, both the body and our assumptions about who gets to be an artist, who gets to be an audience and which bodies are given space to express themselves in public are challenged. The results will be presented at the Dancing My Mind conference on 20 November.
